This family room, kitchen and screen porch addition is located in Potomac, Maryland.
 
 
 
This addition was designed by architect Dana Krupa. The footing are excavated, and a grade is established to ensure the floor of the addition will match that of the existing house. The siding is removed from the area of the house where the addition will be attached.
The bay window in the kitchen is removed, and a temporary wall is placed in the opening The addition is framed. Special attention is paid to building a cricket between the roof of the addition and the house to ensure proper water drainage.

 

The addition is closed in, wiring has been done, the heat ducts have been extended into the addition, the walls, floor, and ceiling insulated, drywall hung, and the walls separating the house and the addition have been removed
